Simultaneous Thermal Analysis / Thermogravimetry - STA High Pressure

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document introduces the High Pressure Simultaneous Thermal Analysis (STA) instrument, which operates under defined atmospheres and pressures up to 150 bar, with a temperature range from room temperature to 1800°C. It is noted for its high precision, resolution, and long-term drift stability, making it unique in the market.

Specifications
The STA Platinum Series combines Thermogravimetry (TG) and Differential Thermal Analysis (DTA) or Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) to provide comprehensive data on mass change, enthalpy, specific heat, and other thermal properties. The instrument is suitable for high-temperature and high-pressure applications.

Main Applications
The STA HP is used for pyrolysis studies, gasification of coal and biomass, CO2 sequestration, testing of getter materials, and metal reduction/oxidation studies.

Software Features
The instrument is controlled via PC software compatible with Microsoft Windows. Key features include data security, repetition measurements, curve comparison, data export, report generation, and multi-method analysis. The software supports programmable gas control and statistical evaluation.

Unique Features
The Linseis STA HP is the only system providing TG and DTA/DSC data under pressurized conditions up to 1800°C. It supports various atmospheres, including vacuum, inert, reducing, and humidified conditions. A sophisticated gas control system ensures smooth operation under pressure.

Technical Specifications
Two models are available: STA HP/1 and STA HP/2, with temperature ranges up to 1100°C and 1400/1800°C, respectively. They support pressures up to 150 bar and 50 bar, with TG resolution options and sample weight capacities.

Experimental Example
An example of charcoal gasification under CO2 atmosphere at 20 bar is provided, demonstrating the instrument's application in real-world scenarios.

Simultaneous Thermal Analysis / Thermogravimetry - STA High Pressure-2

Thermogravimetry is a technique in which the mass of the sample is monitored against time or temperature while the temperature of the sample, in a specified atmosphere, is programmed. This technique serves the determination of material compositions. HP STA Simultaneous TGA-DTA/DSC measures both heat flow (DSC) and weight changes (TGA) in a material as a function of temperature or time in a controlled atmosphere. Simultaneous measurement of these two material properties not only improves productivity but also simplifies interpretation of the results. The complementary information obtained allows...
