Introduction to Braided Packing

Assembly Instructions

Cutting and ring formation should be done manually, preferably with a 45º bevel cut.

Final tightening is applied to maintain acceptable leakage and prevent overheating.
Recommended tightening pressures: 0.5–1.5 N/cm² for pumps, minimum 5 N/cm² for valves.

Proper surface finish is critical for packing longevity; recommended roughness Rt = 16 microns (external diameter).
Applicable components include centrifuge pump shafts, spindles, sleeves, and stuffing boxes.
Shaft hardness should be at least 50 Rockwell C.
