LICO PAF - Overheat switching wire system
The PAF-Salt Filled Wire Systems are designed for overheat and fire control, particularly in aircraft jet engines and wheel wells. These systems are watertight and corrosion-resistant, with a maximum cable set length of 120 meters and a discrete cable length of 4.55 meters. They can withstand temperatures up to approximately 1,100°C for reset purposes.
The systems are used in various civil and military aircraft applications, including jet engines. They are also applicable in industrial settings such as heating plants, superheaters, food and wood chip dryers, exhaust systems, wind power generators, gas turbines, industrial plants, engine rooms, compressors, chemical plants, melting pots, reactors, and gears.
The system can be set to alarm at temperatures of 124°C, 154°C, 204°C, 301°C, and 407°C, with higher temperatures available upon request.
The control unit operates with a power input of 2W and a voltage range of 9-30VDC. The system's construction features a diameter of only 2.25 mm. When the nominal temperature is reached, the eutectic salt within the Inconel cables becomes conductive, triggering an audible and visual alarm output.
The typical installation involves mounting clips every 20 cm, along with flange and nut assemblies and connector-plug assemblies for signal, ground, and power input.
