CROMA – press feeling unit mod. The CROMA universal press feeding unit is the lastest proposal from LB Officine Meccaniche for the production of porcelain tiles with high aesthetic value. CROMA is produced in various models and therefore can be applied to any type of press. It combines aesthetic quality with a high production speed, meeting the ceramic manufacturers’ twin requirements of quality and productivity. The innovative powder handling system minimises the reduction in production capacity, that has always afflicted conventional single and double-layer press feeding systems. Besides this important productive aspect, CROMA also allows for a wide range of aesthetic effects. The possibility of feeding the press mould with spray-dried bodies and glazes as well as micronised powders make it possible to produce tiles with “travertine”, “veined” and varied colour effects. Tiles can be produced in smooth, lapped, textured and polished versions without the need to alter their design in any way. The polishing process, that is often needed to make the design visible on the surface is no longer required for tiles produced using CROMA. The aesthetic effect is visible immediately after the pressing phase, with no need for additional processes. Developed from the experience of LB, CROMA is the most advanced press feeding system for the production of porcelain tiles in existence. It is a highly flexible tool capable of meeting the needs of both through-bodied and glazed porcelain tile production.
