Testing Principle: The main unit connects to a vacuum decay chamber where the sample is placed. The chamber is vacuumed, creating a pressure difference. Gas enters through leaks into the vacuum decay chamber and main unit, where pressure sensors monitor vacuum changes to determine sample integrity.

Testing Standards: The instrument references ASTM F2338 standards.

Testing Procedure:

Place the sample in the test chamber and vacuum to a set level within a specified time to check for leaks larger than 500μm.
Set hold time and critical value; if vacuum does not drop below the critical value within the hold time, the sample is deemed free of 100μm-500μm leaks.
Set test time; if vacuum decay rate is less than the sample's calibrated rate, the sample is deemed free of leaks larger than 5μm.

Verification Method:

Create standard samples, including negative (leak-free) and positive (with leaks) samples for calibration and verification.
Positive samples can be prepared using laser drilling to create specific leak sizes.
