It is also known as Moisture vapor permeability and measured by water vapor transmission rate (WVTR). If the package materials have poor performance in water vapor barrier ability, for example, the food in the package will damping and that will result in food spoilage. Thus, water vapor barrier ability of package materials is also very important factor to ensure the shelf life of products. Normally, water vapor permeability rates can be determined according to ASTM F1249, ISO 15106 and other standards for WVTR based on pack or dish methods including ASTM E96. W3/330 Water vapor permeability tester is based on the electrolytic sensor method and utilizes Labthink’s patent design of three diffusion cells integrated in one instrument for individual or multiple tests.
