Labthink FST-01 Shrinkage Tester
The Labthink Shrinkage Tester is designed to measure two key parameters: shrink ratio and shrink force.
  • Shrink Ratio: The test sample is attached to a load cell with a displacement transducer and heated to a specific temperature. Displacement signals are recorded, and the shrinkage ratio is calculated.
  • Shrink Force: Based on DIN 53369, the sample is briefly placed in a hot oven and then cooled to room temperature. The force generated during material shrinkage is recorded.

The tester complies with ISO 14616-1997 and DIN 53369-1976 standards.

When heat is applied to the film it will shrink tightly over the object it is covering. The shrinkage of the films is based on the relaxation of the orientation stresses introduced in the film during the production of the film. The relaxation causes a good enclosure of the package. Labthink Shrinkage tester is designed to determine shrink ratio and shrink force:  Shrink ratio – Test sample is attached to a load cell, which is equipped with displacement transducer and is heated to a certain temperature. The displacement signals are recorded during the test and the shrinkage ratio is obtained by further calculations.  Shrink Force – Determined based on DIN 53369. Test sample is attached to a load cell and is placed briefly in a hot oven and subsequently cooled down to room temperature.
