Temperature and humidity significantly affect a material's water vapor transmission rate (WVTR). Higher temperature and humidity lead to increased WVTR (weaker barrier). The study examines UHT film used for milk packaging. The study adopted cup method (gravimetric method) according to ASTM E96.The testing instrument is C360M Water Vapor Transmission Rate Test System by Labthink. Test Conditions were set to 23℃, 90% RH, 38℃, 70% RH, and 38℃, 90% RH The results showed that WVTR increased with higher temperature at the same humidity level. WVTR increased with higher humidity at the same temperature level. In conclusion, high temperature and high humidity environments weaken the water vapor barrier performance of UHT film.
