Fogging is the residue deposited on interior glass of chemicals released from materials under specific temperature conditions. Labthink Fogging tester is designed to test fogging characteristics of automotive interior materials including evaporation of volatile components from PVC, leather, textiles and other polymeric materials. Trim samples are placed in the beakers under a retaining ring and the beakers are sealed with silicone seals and standardized glass plates clamped by a cover plate. The samples are subjected to accurate cycles of heating and cooling after which the fogging on the glass plates is assessed by use of a standard glossmeter.
