This consists of a hexagonal polyurethane disc mounted to the back of the diffuser. A PE-HD ring fitted to the impeller front side sits close to the disc. The impeller hub is protected by a polyurethane ring.This design improves the starting torque of low-capacity pumps and has the effect that solid particles such as sand are propelled outside instead of clogging the pump.
