KCS Separator

Product catalog summary
Overview: This document details the KRONE KCS separator filters, which are designed for mechanical centrifugal filtration to remove particles and solids from liquid mediums. It covers specifications, operational principles, applications, and technical data.
Specifications: The filters come with options for electrically and pneumatically actuated ball valves for automatic removal of suspended solids. They include an inspection cover for high flow rates and a removable hood for easy access to the filter body.
Principles of Operation: The separator operates by allowing liquid to enter tangentially, creating a gyroscopic movement that aids in separating suspended particles. Particles larger than 1 cm are blocked from entering the system. These particles collect in a chamber and can be removed either manually or automatically. The filtered water is then directed upward through the system.
Applications: These filters are versatile, suitable for water treatment from deep wells, surface water, and fire protection systems, as well as in cooling towers, air conditioners, wastewater treatment, food production, steelworks, refineries, and airports.
Capacity and Technical Data: The document includes a capacity diagram with nominal diameters from DN 100 to DN 450, supporting capacities from 1 to 2,000 m3/h. Materials used are carbon steel with an epoxy paint finish and stainless steel 304/316. The design supports quasi-static operation with a maximum differential pressure of 2 bar.
Approvals: The filters are certified with several approvals, including 3.1 Certificate, DGRL/TÜV, GL, LS, DNV, ABS, TR TF/TR CU Certificates (EAC), and ASME U-Stamp.

KCS Separator-1

KRONE KCS separator filters are used for filtering out all particles and solids of any type of liquid medium by mechanical centrifugal filtration. 3.1. Certificate, DGRL / TÜV, GL, LS, DNV, ABS, TR TF / TR CU Certificates (EAC), ASME U-Stamp Notice: The compatibility between medium and vessel or sealing material is the responsibility of the operator. The design of the pressure vessel is based on a quasi-static operation (load cycle number ≤ 1000 according to AD 2000 Merkblatt S1, section 1.4). Max. Differential pressure inlet outlet 2 bar.

Optional accessories available Some applications • Automatic flushing system: 220 V / 24 V for each programmable electric switch panel with which the intervals between flushing cycles and the duration are controlled by an electrically actuated ball valve. Because flush-out of the suspended solids is automatic, no personnel are required. Models with pneumatically actuated devices are also available. Water Deep wells, surface water, lakes, rivers, salt water, fire protection systems for oil jetties / refineries, pre-filters for injection water for oil production. • Inspection cover: Allows inspection...
