Reference PV Cells AK-200

Reference PV Cells AK-200

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The AK-200 is a reference photovoltaic (PV) cell designed for the evaluation of solar cell performance, specifically for crystalline silicon solar cells. It is used to adjust the intensity of solar simulators in accordance with JIS standards, utilizing a calibrated short-circuit current.

Specifications
The AK-200 integrates crystalline silicon into a package that includes all essential functions for immediate use. It maintains a standard test condition of 25°C with a built-in PT-100 temperature sensor. The relative spectral sensitivity is published online, and the cell can be calibrated as a secondary reference by Japan’s National Institute for Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST).

Features
1. Improved Reflection Characteristics: The AK-200 significantly reduces errors in short-circuit current due to multiple reflections, lowering the error from 1.3% in conventional products to 0.0%.
2. Incident Angle Characteristics: The AK-200 shows minimal variation in short-circuit current with changes in incident angle, enhancing measurement accuracy.

Dimensions and System Example
The AK-200 measures 120 × 90 × 21.5 mm and weighs 600 g. It includes connectors for I-V and temperature measurements, compatible with standard systems like the Temperature Control Stage for Reference Solar Cells PVC-1000.

Main Specifications
  • Short-circuit current (Isc) at 25°±1°C: 100 mA or higher
  • Receptor area: 20 × 20 mm
  • Aperture area: 47 × 47 mm
  • Field of View (FOV): 160°
  • Fill Factor (FF): 60% or higher
  • Operating temperature/humidity range: 20 to 30°C, relative humidity 65% or less
  • Storage temperature/humidity range: 15 to 30°C, relative humidity 30 to 75% with no condensation

Safety and Usage
Users are advised to read the instruction manual for safe and correct use. The AK-200 comes with standard accessories including a storage case, M4 screws, and connectors for I-V measurement.

Conclusion
The AK-200 offers advanced features for precise solar simulator intensity adjustment, making it a valuable tool for solar cell performance evaluation.

Reference PV Cells AK-200-1

Reference photovoltaic cell for solar simulator intensity adjustment Reference PV Cell AK-200 NEW For crystalline silicon solar cells Reference PV Cell AK-200 is the result of collaborative research between Konica Minolta and Japan’s National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology. Patent application number (Japan) 2010-131945 A reference PV cell with greatly reduced multiple reflection error. (Conforms to JIS C 8910:2001, JIS C 8911:1998) For evaluation of solar cell performance (I-V measurement) in accordance with JIS standards, it is necessary to adjust the intensity of the solar simulator to be used for measurements utilizing a reference photovoltaic cell with a calibrated short-circuit current. Feature 1 Improved reection characteristics Error in short-circuit current (Isc) due to multiple reection is greatly reduced. Improvements in the optical structure suppress multiple reection and reduce the 1.3% error of conventional products to 0.0%. Error Feature 2 Conventional product Crystalline Si integrated into a package. All essential functions for a reference PV cell are integrated into the package, so it can be used immediately. Maintains standard test condition of 25°C Published relative spectral sensitivity (Standard value) The relative spectral sensitivity (standard value) is published on the Konica Minolta Sensing homepage. (http://www.konicaminolta.com/instruments/) The built-in temperature sensor (PT-100) can be connected to a temperature-controlled stage for reference PV cells to easily achieve and maintain the standard test condition. Can be calibrated as a secondary reference photovoltaic cell by Japan’s National Institute for Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) Calibration can be performed without the need to create a primary reference cell. This reduces both the time and cost of calibration.
