Highly Flexible Copper / Aluminum Connectors and Insulated Copper Busbars 2.1 Flexible connectors made with laminated copper foils (laminated shunts) We produce various laminated connectors according to customer drawings and specifications. The parts are manufactured in high quality with approved materials and suitable processes: press-/diffusion welding; soldering/brazing; riveting. Copper strips: ➢ Surface treatment: uncoated, silver-coated or tin-coated. Welding methods application: ➢ Press-/diffusion welding: - For welding area dimension A<90mm & B<60mm: direct welding. For welding...

Open the catalog to page 62.2 Flexible connectors made with laminated aluminum foils (laminated shunts) Aluminum flexibles are made with aluminum foil laminates that are welded with proper welding technologies (press welding or metal inert-gas welding) to achieve customer’s requirements. 2.3 Flexible connectors made with braided or stranded copper wires (braided shunts) The connectors are made out of braided copper tapes or stranded copper ropes, cold-pressed on both ends as terminals. We manufacture highly flexible braids with annealed uncoated or tinned high purity copper wires. Such braids are mainly used for...

Insulating of flexible part with shrinkable insulating tube could be made. Some examples are shown in the table below, but most of our products are customized parts (made according to customer drawings). The allowed current carrying capacity in the table is only for reference, because the actual values are related to application conditions. Open the catalog to page 82.4 Flexible insulated copper busbars Flexible insulated busbars consist of several layers of uncoated or tinned copper strips and are insulated with highly flexible PVC or TPE compound with extrusion technology. They are excellently suitable for high current connections inside switchgears, solar energy panels and other electro technical installations. It is an ideal replacement for thick cables and solid bus bars. The ends of the busbars can be used directly as connections by stamping holes on the laminated copper strips at ends. Marking on busbar surface with screen print is possible....
Open the catalog to page 9Voltage withstand performance with 15min / 50Hz AC: ➢ between busbar and ground: >15kV Flame retardant performance: self-extinguishing, UL94-V0 SGS certified: RoHS compliant. Section area range: 7mm²~1200mm² Main features of flexible insulated busbars: ◼ Easy assembly: it could be easily bended and fixed with hands or easy tools. Higher current-carrying capacity: due to conductor skin effect, the laminated busbar structure can achieve higher ampacity than solid busbars. Here is a comparison: Ampacity Requested section area of round solid conductor Requested section area of laminated busbar...
Open the catalog to page 10Standard length: 2m or 3m (25m in roll is possible for 1-layer busbars). Ampacity: values in the table are only for reference, because the actual ampacity is related to the application conditions. Dimensions and Qty. of strips Guidance for selecting the correct dimensions The ampacities are related to the cross-sections and operating ambient temperature, as shown in Page: 11 / 25
Open the catalog to page 11above table. Therefore, three factors should be considered for deciding the dimensions: ➢ Allowed temperature-rise on the flexibar The temperature-rise △T can be calculated with formula: △T=Tr – Ta Ta: ambient temperature Tr: temperature of busbars at rated current (pay attention: for general electrical apparatus, Tr should be <105℃). Example (just for reference): If operating ambient temperature is 40℃, and you need ampacity 510A with bar width < 40mm, you could get allowed highest temperature-rise 65K (105℃-40℃ =65K), so you could decide dimension 32× 4. With this bar, the highest 1×...
