KEYLOK Fortress RTC is a driverless dongle designed to enhance software security by preventing circumvention of time-based licensing. It features an onboard real-time clock that operates independently of the system clock, providing extended memory for additional security and licensing options. The CodeVault feature allows execution of application code on the dongle for enhanced security, and it includes a smart card processor with a tamper-proof casing. An extensive API library facilitates rapid and simple implementation.

The Fortress RTC supports a wide range of operating systems including Windows XP and newer, Linux 2.4 and newer (including ARM), MAC OSX, UNIX, Ubuntu, Fedora, OpenSUSE, and CentOS. Compatible development tools include Borland C/C++, Delphi, Intel Fortran, Java, Microsoft Access, Microsoft Visual Basic, Microsoft Visual Studio (C/C++/C#), PERL, and VB.Net.
- Environment: Storage temperature ranges from -10°F to 175°F (-23°C to 80°C), and operating temperature ranges from 32°F to 157°F (0°C to 70°C).
- Dimensions/Connectors: The Fortress RTC USB measures 50x18x8mm and uses a standard USB port.
- Memory: Programmable memory with data retention of at least 10 years, supporting 1 million write cycles per location and unlimited read cycles.
- Security: Utilizes proprietary encryption algorithms with 296 possibilities for authentication, read, and write passwords. It meets the ISO/IEC 15408 Security Evaluation Level EAL 5+, the highest level globally.
- Power: Consumes no more than 15 milliamps, with the RTC battery lasting up to 3 years.
