DataLogger Plug-In for KEPServerEX®

Product catalog summary
Overview: The DataLogger Plug-In for KEPServerEX is designed to log data from the server to an ODBC-compliant database such as SQL, Oracle, or MS Access. It is useful for applications like OEE, quality, performance analysis, and environmental safety data storage.
Step 1: Setting up a Database Connection
Begin by opening the DataLogger's General tab and configuring the Data Source Name (DSN) through the Data Source Administrator. It is recommended to create a System DSN connection for optimal logging results. Select the appropriate driver, such as the Microsoft Access Driver, and configure the database connection.
Step 2: Choosing Data to Log
Access the Data Map tab to select items from the server to log. For testing, use a System Tag like '_Time_Second.'
Step 3: Choosing the Data Logging Table and Format
Configure the MS Access Database by entering a Data Source Name and specifying the database file location. Use the settings 'Create a new table once and always attempt to append to this table' and 'Narrow' for table format. Enter a name in the Table Name field.
Step 4: Triggering the Data to Log
DataLogger's default settings include a 500 millisecond trigger for new log groups. After saving, data should log to the database. Verify data recording by opening MS Access.
Additional Features:
Users can start and stop logging using toolbar icons and configure multiple log groups for different rates or databases. The Batch Identifier feature allows grouping of data rows for easier retrieval. The store and forward capabilities, introduced in KEPServerEX version 5.14, enhance data management. Video tutorials are available on Kepware's YouTube channel.
