Our FIO Safety PLC (EtherCAT/SIL3/PLe) safety control system continuously monitors position and speed and reliably stops the robot as soon as a person or object enters the working area. Thanks to the integrated floating point unit (FPU), position calculations are performed in real time, enabling robots to achieve high handling speeds while maintaining maximum safety. The Safety PLC can be used to monitor several robots simultaneously. The open system without hardware binding allows the robot manufacturer’s own functions and kinematics to be integrated directly. The large secure process image (FSoE frame) provides optimum support for drive controllers with STO, SS1 and SLS. In addition, laser scanners, encoders and other safety-related sensors can be integrated via modular safety I/Os. In this way, we make a decisive contribution to maximum productivity with the highest level of protection.
