Series 2268 850W DC Power Supplies

Product catalog summary
Overview: The Series 2268 850W DC Power Supplies by Keithley are designed for automated test applications, offering six models with varying voltage and current outputs. These power supplies are compact, efficient, and equipped with multiple control and interface options, making them suitable for a wide range of applications.
Specifications: The power supplies provide maximum voltage outputs ranging from 20V to 150V and current outputs from 42A to 5.6A. They support constant voltage, constant current, and constant power modes. The supplies are housed in a compact 1U, half-rack enclosure, allowing for efficient use of space in test racks. They operate with a constant voltage (CV) and constant current (CC) indicator, with CV at TTL high (4V to 5V) and CC at TTL low (0V to 0.6V). The rated AC input voltage ranges from 100VAC to 240VAC, with operational voltage from 85VAC to 265VAC.
Control and Interface Options: Series 2268 offers built-in LAN, USB, GPIB, RS-232, and RS-485 interfaces, along with analog control options. The supplies can execute auto sequence programs to minimize bus communication time and can control up to 30 units through a single interface. Rear-panel connectors vary by model, with terminal bars or blocks for power output and various connectors for analog and digital I/O.
Safety and Protection: The power supplies include safety features such as over-voltage, under-voltage, over-current, and over-temperature protection. A foldback mode with programmable delay protects sensitive devices during transitions between CV and CC operations.
Applications: These power supplies are ideal for production testing, environmental testing, accelerated life testing, and process control systems. They also feature auxiliary outputs for external device control, eliminating the need for additional power sources in some test systems.
Expandability: For higher output requirements, multiple Series 2268 units can be connected in series or parallel. They can also be configured for bipolar output by linking two units.
Performance: The power supplies have a power factor correction of 0.99 and efficiency ranging from 82% to 87% depending on the model. They feature a temperature coefficient of 100ppm/°C and a drift of 0.05% over an 8-hour interval.
Environmental and Safety Standards: The operating temperature range is 0° to 50°C, with storage from -20° to 70°C. The devices conform to safety standards such as CSA, UL, and CE, and are designed for installation category II and pollution degree 2.
Additional Features: The power supplies include auxiliary outputs of +5V and +15V, with over-current protection. They are equipped with forced air cooling and have a warranty of three years. Accessories include a CD manual, power cord, and test lead connection hardware, with additional accessories and extended warranty options available.

Series 2268 850W DC Power Supplies-1

• Six 850W models with maximum voltage outputs from 20V to 150V, maximum current outputs from 42A to 5.6A • Isolated analog inputs minimize control line noise • Built-in LAN, USB, GPIB, RS-232, RS-485 interfaces and analog inputs are all standard • Constant voltage, constant current, and constant power setting control • Auto sequence control supports internal execution of commands to minimize bus communication time • Control up to 30 supplies through a single controller interface • Foldback mode with programmable delay shuts down the output on transitions between CV and CC operation to protect voltage- or currentsensitive devices • Numerous safety features protect the load and the supply, including: over-voltage and under-voltage protection, over-current protection, overtemperature protection, loop protection for multiple-supply configurations, and a hardware output interlock APPLICATIONS The six models in the 850W DC Power Supplies in the Series 2268 provide voltage and current output levels well suited for automated test applications. They offer maximum voltage outputs of 20V, 40V, 60V, 80V, 100V, and 150V with corresponding maximum current outputs of 42A, 21A, 14A, 10.5A, 8.5A, and 5.6A. Series 2268 supplies allow outputting any current, including the maximum current, at any voltage. They provide both analog and digital control options and a number of digital interface options and can operate in constant voltage (CV), constant current (CC), or constant power modes to address a broad array of applications. These high-efficiency, soft-starting power supplies provide reliable performance and long life. 850W in the Most Compact Package The Series 2268 supplies offer the highest power density in the smallest package. The Series 2268 supplies are packaged in a low profile 1U high, half-rack width enclosure. These supplies take up minimum space in a test rack. When multiple supplies are needed, these supplies can easily mount side-by-side in a test rack to provide two outputs in a 1U height space. Ventilation for the Series 2268 supplies is from the front of the instrument to the back so additional rack space for airflow above, below, or to the side of the supplies is not required. Thus, only 1U of total rack height is all that is needed. Furthermore the Series 2268 power supplies operate at temperatures up to 50°C so that they can perform reliably even in test racks that have elevated temperatures. Series 2268 DC Power Supply Isolated Analog Input Output – Interlock Safety Limit Switches Fixture Control • Production testing • Environmental testing • Accelerated life testing • Process control systems • Two auxiliary outputs support driving or signaling external devices, often eliminating the need for additional instrumentation Use a Series 2268 DC supply as part of a control system. Analog control signals can program the supply’s output. In addition to driving the load, the supply’s two auxiliary outputs can drive external devices or circuits. The auxiliary outputs can eliminate the need for extra power sources in a test system. Interlock connections can turn off the supply’s output if an unsafe external condition is detected. A Greater Measure of Confidence • Compact 1U, half-rack enclosure provides the highest power in the smallest package

The Series 2268 power supplies incorporate a standard foldback function which, when enabled, will turn the output off if the load condition causes the supply to switch between the CV and CC control modes. In addition, the Series 2268 supplies add a programmable delay time to the foldback function to allow a time delay before the output is turned off. Thus, if the supply is powering a load with a high in-rush current which is large enough to cause the supply to switch to the CC mode from the CV mode, the delay would prevent the foldback function from an unwanted shutdown of the output so that...
