Beaded tubes and plug pins dimensions and tolerances Beaded tube Plug pins have a cap on one end and are cut off square at the other end. The cap on plug pin R is more closed than on plug pin N with the same shaft dimension. Beaded tubes are cut off square at both ends. All parts have the advantage over turned pins that they are made of material which can be beaded and are therefore especially good for riveting. The order descriptions are as follows: • for a beaded tube SR D1 x s x L / l1 • for a plug pin N StSt N D1 x s x L / l1 • for a plug pin R StSt R D1 x s x L / l1 In addition to the standard materials brass and copper, we also use aluminium, pure nickel, nickel silver, cupro-nickel, steel and stainless steel. Brass is particularly useful because of its high strength and good riveting qualities, however it has a tendency towards stress corrosion in conjunction with some materials. The following special designs are available: • plug pin F with a longitudinal joint for special applications • plug pin R with a restricted surface roughness, e.g. Ra <= 0.3 μm, for increased contact safety • beaded tubes and plug pins with two beadings • plug pins with a conical cap • plug pin N with a cap at both ends The following table shows the standard dimensions. Other dimensions are available on request. typical dimensions and tolerances length tolerances *plus coaxiality deviation of ±10%, relating to the
