Product catalog summary

Overview

This document provides detailed technical specifications and features of Kanetec's electromagnetic chucks, specifically the Model KET STANDARD TYPE series. These chucks are primarily used for grinding operations and are designed to offer high rigidity, reliability, accuracy, and strong holding power while maintaining a lightweight and thin profile.

Key Features

  • High Rigidity and Accuracy: Utilizes Kanetec's original machining technology with a one-piece hollow body-to-case construction, avoiding welding to enhance rigidity and minimize deformation over time.
  • Lightweight Design: Reduced weight to ease the load on grinder tables, contributing to longer grinder service life.
  • Thin Profile with Strong Holding Power: Total height ranges from 70 mm to 85 mm depending on size, maximizing workpiece mounting space without compromising magnetic strength due to optimized coil space design.

Chuck Controller and Accessories

  • Chuck controllers are required separately for operation.
  • Full-function chuck masters with rectification and demagnetization functions are available.
  • If magnetic force adjustment is unnecessary, the ES-M model can be used.
  • Kanetec chucks perform best with Kanetec chuck controllers.
  • Side stoppers are included except for model KET-614F; back stoppers are generally not included.
  • Special chucks for electric discharge machining (Model KET-ED) are available upon request.

Technical Specifications Summary

The document includes a comprehensive table listing various KET models with their nominal dimensions, plate sizes, pole pitch, height, hole specifications, voltage, current, power cord length, and mass. Key points include:

  • Voltage: Typically 90 VDC across models.
  • Current: Ranges from 0.12A for smaller models (e.g., KET-614F) up to 4.23A for the largest models (e.g., KET-80100F).
  • Mass: Varies from 3.5 kg (7 lb) for the smallest to 456 kg (1005 lb) for the largest chucks.
  • Power cord lengths vary between 2 m and 5 m depending on model.
  • Dimensions scale with model number, with sizes ranging from 60×140 mm up to 800×1000 mm.

Applications and Usage

These electromagnetic chucks are widely used in grinding operations requiring precise and reliable workpiece holding. Their design supports various workpiece sizes due to the range of available chuck dimensions and the thin profile that maximizes mounting space.

Recommendations and Notes

  • Use Kanetec chuck controllers for optimal performance.
  • Consider models with rectification and demagnetization functions for enhanced control.
  • Contact Kanetec for specialized chucks such as those for electric discharge machining.
  • Note that some accessories like back stoppers are not included and may need to be sourced separately.

Model KET-1

STANDARD TYPE Chuck controller required additionally Most widely used electromagnetic chucks for grinding operations. ■High Rigidity, High Reliability and High Accuracy! Kanetec.s original machining technology is used to realize a lavish body-to-case one piece hollow construction, instead of a welding construction, to enhance the rigidity, minimize change with time passage and improve accuracy of the chucks. ■Kanetec.s Original Light-Weight Design! The chuck weight has been reduced as much as possible in consideration of driving the table of grinders. This design helps contribute to a longer service life of grinders. ■Simple Thin Type yet Strong Holding Power! The chucks have been designed as low as possible to increase a workpiece mounting space on the grinder. The total height is as short as 70 mm to 80 mm for small and medium types and 85 mm for large types, thus various types of workpieces can be held. Though thin, Kanetec.s original design to secure an electromagnetic coil space ensures strong holding power. Side rail Power cord Bottom Plate Chuck Master SFor models with a Above models ^Full-function chuck masters are available with both rectification and demagnetization functions r^lf the magnetic force needs not be adjusted, use ES-M r^The chuck controller and clamp parts are not included. The KANETEC chucks work best when a KANETEC chuck controller is used Except for KET-614F, only the side stopper is included. (The back stopper is not included.) ^Chucks for electric discharge machining are also available. Please contact us. (Model KET-ED)
