Model KEC-AR/AS

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed specifications and features of various types of magnetic chucks, including permanent magnetic chucks, permanent electromagnetic chucks, and their applications in machine tools such as rotary grinders, lathes, and milling machines. It also covers the necessary accessories like chuck controllers and feeders.
Specifications: The document lists models of electromagnetic chucks with their nominal dimensions, voltage, current, and mass. It distinguishes between two types of pole patterns: ring pole and star pole, each suited for different machining operations. The star pole type is recommended for cutting thick workpieces due to its strong holding power, while the ring pole type is suitable for precise machining of thin workpieces.
Features: The chucks are designed to hold workpieces uniformly, reducing distortion during machining. They require additional components such as chuck controllers and feeders for optimal performance. The document emphasizes the use of KANETEC chuck controllers for best results.
Installation and Accessories: The document includes a wiring diagram for lathe installation and details on the optional feeder required for circular type electromagnetic chucks. The feeder uses a slip contact system to supply electricity to the rotating chuck.
Environmental Considerations: The electromagnetic chucks are noted to be environmentally friendly, although specific details are not provided in the summary.

Model KEC-AR/AS-1

^ELECTROMAGNETIC CHUCKS Model KEC-AR/AS CIRCULAR TYPE [An example of installation on a vertical grinder) Chuck controller required Feeder required additionally Suitable for grinding and cutting operations with the chuck mounted on such machine tools as rotary grinders, lathes, turning machines and rotary milling machines that rotate workpieces to machine. This model comes in two types; ring pole and star pole according to the patterns on the chuck work face. The ring pole type is used for general grinding operations and the star pole type for cutting operations also. •Relatively thin workpieces that are likely to be distorted by mechanical clamping can be held by uniform holding power of the ring pole type for highly precise machining. •For such operations as cutting thick workpieces.the star pole type is recommended that produces strong holding power. (Lathe Wiring Diagram) Slip ring Circular type chuck IRing-Pole Type K Full-function chuck masters are available with both rectification and demagnetization functions. ^If the magi i^The chuck controller and clamp parts are not included. The KANETEC chucks work best when a KANETEC netic force needs chuck controller ■Feeder (optional) This feeder is required to use the circular type electromagnetic chucks. Because the chuck itself is rotated, the feeder cables cannot be connected directly. For this reason, electricity is fed via a slip contact between the carbon brush on the power source side and the slip ring attached to the chuck. •The 024 mounting hole of the slip ring (SR-1) can be Slip ring Model SR-1
