The Pivot Body™ syphon elbow is designed for inserting a syphon pipe into a dryer through the dryer journal without requiring a hand hole or manhole. Its pinless design enhances performance, reliability, and ease of installation compared to conventional syphon elbows.

Installation Overview
If the Pivot Body syphon elbow fits through the rotary joint nipple (typically 1½" rotary joint size and larger), the rotary joint can be attached to the roll before installing the syphon assembly. The horizontal pipe is threaded into the rotary joint head and secured with a pressure plate and split collar. For smaller rotary joints, refer to detailed instructions available online.

To enhance condensate removal, the vertical pipe should be cut square. The length of the vertical pipe (C) is determined by calculating dimension "A" (internal roll diameter divided by 2), subtracting the desired syphon clearance (B), and multiplying by 1.414. For a 1" elbow, subtract 0.25” from dimension "C".

Specifications
The Pivot Body syphon elbow consists of a horizontal body, pivot body, and o-ring, all made of stainless steel. Available sizes are ½”, ¾”, and 1” for the horizontal pipe, with the vertical pipe being one size smaller to reduce stress and blow-through steam.
