Introduction In recent years, the customers require increasingly high wear and corrosion resistance for the extruder screw segments along with the development of engineering plastics with higher concentrations of glass fibers, ceramics or the like. To meet such requirements, JSW has commercialized “LSP-7” screws with higher wear resistance than the conventional longtime seller LSP-H and “LSP-8” screws with higher wear & corrosion resistance than the conventional LSP-4. Here, we introduce the advantages of these screw materials. Excellent wear and corrosion resistance performance Fig.1 and Fig.2 show comparisons of wear and corrosion resistance between the “LSP-7” & “LSP-8” and the conventional materials. In abrasion resistance test, LSP-7 has approx. 1.3 times higher wear resistance compared to the conventional LSP-H. And LSP-8 is excellent in both wear and corrosion resistance. It has higher resistance to various acids compared to the conventional LSP-4 while ensuring high wear resistance equivalent to LSP-7.
