It enables precise and controlled rotation to predetermined angles at high speeds, making it ideal for high-volume applications such as postal and conveyor sortation as well as medical testing. The unit is rated for continuous use as well as low duty cycle use. Rugged Rotation with No Axial Travel Unlike traditional rotary actuators, BTA solenoids produce a true rotational stroke, rather than converting linear force into rotary motion. This significantly increases their service life by eliminating the impacts associated with linear motion in applications such as high-speed diversion. There’s no need to load on mechanical linkages, reducing the number of moving parts and associated wear. Standardized for Flexibility and Ease of Use BTA actuators are self-contained in an industry-standard size, which enables easy mounting and interchangeability. Ultra-High Speed The BTA requires only milliseconds to rotate through its entire stroke. It can maintain this extremely rapid cycling speed without reducing accuracy, repeatability, or the overall life of the unit. Powerful — with Less Power BTA actuators offer considerably more torque than comparably sized rotary actuator designs. Yet even with its high torque output, the BTA requires 40% less power than competitive units. In highvolume applications such as mail sortation, the BTA conserves as much as 18.9 watts per actuator cycle. Virtually Noise-Free Electronically controlled, the BTA provides soft, shock-free cycling without the noise associated with end-of-stroke mechanical stops. For machines such as automated high-speed sorters, which utilize hundreds of BTA actuators per machine, cushioned external stops are used to further minimize noise. This extends the life of the unit to that of its precision ball bearings. Long Service Life BTA solenoids generate no impact energy when activated, enabling a service life rating of 100 million cycles or more, depending on the application and implementation. Installing dampers or cushions at the end of travel enables extended service life for this product.
