Poseidon® Flare - 1

WATER INJECTION Shock-associated noise can only exist when shock waves are present. This occurs at above the critical pressure. John Zink has demon- strated that flare noise nificantly reduced with water injection. tip away from the plat- form moves the emissive ther from the point of in- ducing the effective radi- Tips angled away John Zink's proven "Hydra" flare system has been modified with a proprietary high pressure water injection technology. The result is flare system LOWER NOISE The Poseidon™ Flare system lowers high pressure flare noise by altering noise frequencies with water injection, nozzle size and particularly significant when high molecular weight gas is flared. The noise reduction is less for low molecular weight gases, but still better than without the injection. LOWER RADIATION Full-scale testing shows that radiation levels can be reduced by injecting water. However, the amount of reduction depends on several factors: how the water is injected, how much water is injected, the molecular weight of pressure of the waste gas stream. Our Poseidon™ designers consider each of these key factors. John Zink Company, LLC in our Flare Applications Group FLARE SYSTEM

REDUCING FLARE NOISE Offshore production platforms and FPSOs strive structure necessary in order to limit radiation and noise Therefore, a flare design reduce noise and radiation is beneficial because it will permit a design with a shorter boom length. For production capacity without Laboratory research data, full-scale flare test data and field results have confirmed that water injection can significantly reduce noise and radiation levels emitted production flare. HIGH PRESSURE FLARES Poseidon™ flare design is a low thermal radiation profile allowing shorter boom High-pressure flare boom...
