Leachate Evaporators - 1

Water Vapor Gas Line Air Line Combustion Tube Leachate Evaporators Liquid Temp (180°F) Easier Operation. Less Maintenance. Quicker Installation. Hot Gases (1600°F) Solids Drain A superior leachate evaporator solution is here. John Zink GROUND LEVEL Hamworthy Combustion has partnered with Fen-Tech (AIT Evaporation Systems) to offer a system that drastically reduces operation manhours, simplifies maintenance and streamlines installation. Unrivalled experience and expertise drives the new design. We developed the process patent for leachate evaporators in the late 80’s. Fen-Tech has evaporators with more than 15 years of continuous operation still running at landfills around the world today. The result: a combination of proven evaporator knowledge and advanced control systems and skid packages you can’t get anywhere else. The Process Leachate is fed to the evaporator vessel with a feed pump. The pump operates off level control, turning on as needed for continuous, hands-free operation. Landfill gas is premixed with air needed for combustion in a submersible burner and combustion tube. The gases leave the tube around 1600˚F and come in contact with the leachate At A Glance. Advantages: ++ No full—time operator required ++ Continuous, hands-free operation with automatic filling of the leachate and draining of the solids ++ Enhanced design for lower operational costs, less maintenance and lower power requirements ++ Pre-piped, pre-wired and skid-mounted for easy Expected Emissions: ++ 98% destruction efficiencies of VOCs from the landfill gas ++ NOx = 0.06 lb/MMBTU ++ CO = 0.20 lb/MMBTU inside the vessel. As the leachate boils, the water vapor is directly discharged into the atmosphere and the solids fall to the bottom of Operational Data: the vessel. The solids, which can be sent to a roll-off to be introduced back into the landfill, are drained through an automatic valve opened (275 SCFM of standard landfill gas) (476 SCFM of standard landfill gas) (635 SCFM of standard landfill gas) via operational parameters or a timer. By analyzing your leachate solids content, an appropriate interval can be programmed so the unit works continuously without the need for a dedicated operator, while effectively reducing leachate volume by as much as 98%. Required Gas 7.5 MMBTU/hr 13 MMBTU/hr 17.3 MMBTU/hr

Leachate Evaporators - 2

Reduced Man-Hours, Simplified Operation Improved Performance, Easier Maintenance ++ Automated leachate evaporation: Level controls turn the leachate feed pump on and off without an operator. Additional level switches turn the complete unit on and off. ++ Extended cleaning intervals: An improved washdown pump with injection nozzles keeps the leachate circulating at the bottom of the vessel to reduce solid build-up and extend the time between cleanings. Estimated operator involvement is only 10 hours per month (similar to the weekly man-hours required for a flare system). ++ Hassle-free...
