HCHO gas sensor

HCHO gas sensor

HCHO gas sensor

Product catalog summary
Overview: The M1001 is a formaldehyde gas sensor module designed for high sensitivity and resolution with features like zero calibration, auto compensation for drift and temperature, low power consumption, and long lifespan. It supports I2C communication and is suitable for applications such as vehicle-mounted and indoor air cleaners, kitchen and building ventilation systems, and portable gas detection devices.
Features:
  • Zero calibration and high consistency
  • High sensitivity and resolution
  • Auto compensation for drift and temperature
  • Low power consumption
  • Long lifespan
  • I2C communication
  • High stability and linearity
Applications:
  • Vehicle-mounted and indoor air cleaners
  • Kitchen and building ventilation systems
  • Portable gas detection
Technical Parameters:
  • Measurement range: 0-3 mg/m³ with a resolution of 0.01 mg/m³
  • Working current: ≤20mA
  • Response time: ≤10s
  • Preheat time: 60 seconds
  • Recovery time: ≤120s
  • Operating temperature: -10 to 40°C
  • Storage temperature: -20 to 60°C
  • Humidity: ≤95% RH (operating), ≤60% RH (storage)
  • Life time: 5 years
Pinout and Communication:
  • Pin 1: V (-)
  • Pin 2: V (+)
  • Pin 3: A (RX/CLK)
  • Pin 4: B (TX/SDA)
  • Baud rate: 9600bps
  • Data bits: 8
  • Stop bits: 1
  • Parity: none
Data Calculation: The CH2O gas concentration is calculated using the formula: (CH2O High (B2) * 256 + CH2O Low (B3)) * 0.01. For example, if the reading data are 2Ch, 00h, 57h, 03h, 0E8h, 6Eh, the TVOC value is calculated as 0.87 mg/m³.
Precautions:
  • Preheat for 5-10 minutes before first use
  • Avoid vibration, drops, and liquid exposure
  • Not suitable for systems involving personal safety
  • Avoid long-term exposure to high concentrations of organic gas
  • Do not use in applications with strong gas flow

Output method Module use 2 wire I2C bus, the default is Slave Addr=0x3B, this is only read/write address, which occupied bit7 to bit1. When read from sensor, write 0x3B<<1|0x01=77. I2C data format Module pictures: Note: R2 is load resistor, it may differ from different production batch number. Common value are: 10K, 27K, 47K, 100K and 200K. The value difference will not affect the module electro performance and sensor performance.
