WATERJET SYSTEMS DELIVERY SYSTEMS Jet Edge offers two Abrasive Delivery Systems to effectively meter abrasive to the Permalign® II Cutting Head - the Fluidized Abrasive Delivery System and the Solid Phase Abrasive Delivery System. Both systems store and convey the abrasive over long distances to produce an abrasivejet capable of cutting through virtually any material. Using compressed air, each system creates an even distribution of abrasive flow that is essential to achieve reliable cutting results. The large storage capacity supports hours of uninterrupted abrasivejet cutting. Fluidized Abrasive Delivery Compressed air fluidizes and transports abrasive from a hopper to a single cutting head. Accurate metering and reliable on/off control of the abrasive is accomplished with a pneumatically actuated slide gate. An adjustment knob controls the slide gate opening for precise abrasive flow rates, and the indicating dial provides an accurate reference mark for the position of the slide gate. Solid Phase Delivery For solid phase delivery, a pressurized hopper is used to force abrasive to a single or multiple cutting head configuration. Each cutting head can be individually controlled to achieve its predeter- mined abrasive flow rate through the use of a secondary hopper. The secondary hopper has a pneumatically actuated slide gate that provides accurate metering and reliable on/off control of the abrasive. When opened, the slide gate allows abrasive to fall through a metering system. This metering system consists of a dial wheel with various holes that can easily be changed to achieve the desired flow rate of abrasive to the cutting head.
