This document provides technical specifications and ordering information for in-line vacuum insulation inserts designed for use on the vacuum side of connectors. These inserts accommodate specific plug diameters and are compatible with various connector types.

Product Description

The insulation inserts serve as dielectric barriers within vacuum connectors, ensuring electrical isolation while maintaining vacuum integrity. They are suitable for plugs with a diameter of 1.6 mm (0.063 inch).

Dimensions and Pin Configurations

The inserts are available in multiple pin counts, each with defined dimensional parameters labeled as φA, φB, and C. Dimensions are provided in both millimeters and inches for precision:

• Pin counts range from 4 to 48 pins.
• φA and φB represent diameters related to the insert's geometry, varying according to pin count.
• Dimension C corresponds to an additional critical measurement, likely length or depth.

Examples include:

• 4 pins: φA ~12.8 mm (0.504"), φB ~12.8 mm (0.504")
• 19 pins: φA ~29.0 mm (1.147"), φB ~29.0 mm (1.142")
• 48 pins: φA ~35.6 mm (1.402"), φB ~33.8 mm (1.331")

Materials and Operating Temperatures

The insulation inserts are manufactured from three primary materials, each with specific temperature tolerances:

• PEEK (Polyether ether ketone): -55°C to +250°C
• PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene): -55°C to +260°C
• Alumina (Ceramic): -55°C to +1000°C

Connector Compatibility

The inserts are compatible with two main connector types:

• MS connectors (Military Standard)
• Burndy/Souriau connectors

Ordering codes reflect the connector type, material, pin count, and plug acceptance, for example: 41G6-01 M-PK 04 P-MS.

Ordering Instructions

When ordering, specify:

• Number of pins
• Material code (PK for PEEK, TE for PTFE, AM for Alumina)
• Connector type (MS or BU for Burndy/Souriau)
• Plug diameter acceptance (standardized at 1.6 mm)
