This new catalogue is designed to help you understand the basics a Flexible Impeller Pump (FIP), and supply you with a quick reference guide, enabling you to choose the correct pump for the application. The History. The Original Designed by Jack Streeter and Art Briggs Jack Art Briggs Streeter Company • To come up with the name Jabsco, these inventors used the first letter from each of their names and added the co, to be Jabsco. Jabsco pump company formed in Burbank, California • First pump designed in 1938 • The patent for the flexible impeller was issued in 1940. • Designed in response to a specific customer requirement for condensate removal from air conditioning systems. • The FIP principle has been applied to a diverse range of applications ranging from, engine cooling systems, bulk milk transfer, food processing, and industrial applications. section Five | page 8 0
