Product catalog summary
Solenoid Valve Terminology
  • Direct Acting Valve: Includes components such as coil, solenoid base, solenoid core, core spring, sealing disc, and valve body.
  • Diaphragm (or Piston) Valve: Additional components include diaphragm (or piston), diaphragm (or piston) spring, pilot orifice, and valve bonnet.
Engineering Information
  • Materials: Valve bodies are constructed from brass, bronze, thermoplastics, stainless steel, or nickelized brass/bronze. Seals are chosen based on mechanical, thermal, and chemical requirements.
  • Sealing Materials: NBR, EPDM, FPM, and PTFE are selected based on temperature and fluid compatibility.
  • Electrical Characteristics: Coils are designed for continuous duty with specific voltage tolerances and power consumption details.
  • Flow Rate and Kv Value: Flow rate is influenced by valve size, fluid type, and pressure. Kv value assists in calculating flow rate.
  • Pressure Rating: Includes maximum operating pressure differential, minimum operating pressure differential, and maximum static pressure.
  • Installation Recommendations: Valves can be installed horizontally or vertically, with recommendations for cleaning pipelines and using strainers.
2/2 Direct Acting Valves
  • These valves are normally closed (NC) when de-energized and do not require a minimum operating pressure differential. High flow rates are limited by coil power.
  • Technical data includes internal parts made of stainless steel, various seal materials, fluid temperature ranges, and electrical protection ratings.
3/2 Direct Acting Valves
  • Similar to 2/2 NC valves but with three ports allowing two ways simultaneously. Often used as cylinder activators.
  • Technical data includes response times, voltage options, and cycling rates.
3/2 High Flow Valves
  • These valves offer high flow rates with specific ordering options and technical data similar to other valve types.
2/2 Pilot Operated Diaphragm Valves
  • These valves require a pressure difference between inlet and outlet to operate and are available in various configurations.
  • Technical data includes response times and electrical protection ratings.
General Recommendations
  • Valves should be installed considering environmental conditions, and special coils are available for extreme conditions.
  • Ordering requires specifying order code, seal material, and voltage.
Overview: This document provides detailed specifications and ordering information for various types of valves, including high-pressure service valves, low-pressure diaphragm valves, air-operated valves, steam service valves, gas service valves, and vacuum service valves. The valves are designed for different applications and are available in various configurations, materials, and sizes.
Specifications: The valves are made from materials such as brass and stainless steel, with seals made from PTFE, PA, NBR, EPDM, and FPM. They are suitable for fluid temperatures ranging from -50°C to +250°C, depending on the seal material. The valves operate at voltages of 230, 115, 48, 24 V AC, and 24, 12 V DC, with a continuous duty cycle (ED100%).
Technical Data: The valves have a maximum ambient temperature of +55°C and a viscosity limit of 21 mm²/s. They feature a response time of 0.1 to 1 second for opening and 0.5 to 5 seconds for closing. Electrical protection is rated at IP65 with a DIN 43650 plug.
Ordering Information: Customers are advised to state the order code and voltage when ordering. A questionnaire on page 36 can assist in selecting the appropriate valve. Options include explosion-proof coils and NPT ports, with other versions available upon request.
Key Features: The document highlights the importance of selecting the correct valve type based on application requirements, such as pressure, temperature, and fluid type. It also emphasizes the availability of safety shut-off valves for gas applications and the need for compatibility with gas detectors.
Figures and Tables: The document includes figures and tables that provide dimensions, mass, and flow direction for each valve model. These visual aids help in understanding the physical characteristics and installation requirements of the valves.

2/2 CLOSED WHEN DE-ENERGISED (NC) DIRECT ACTING When the coil is energised the valve opens. The valve does not require minimum operating pressure differential. Maximum operating pressure depends on the orifice diameter and coil power. Due to the coil power limitations high flow rates cannot be achieved. 3/2 CLOSED WHEN DE-ENERGIZED (NC) DIRECT ACTING Valve function similar to 2/2 NC, only with 3 ports that allow 2 ways simultaneously: one open and the other closed. 3/2 valves are often used as cylinder activators. The same valve also allows NO function when properly connected. 2/2 CLOSED WHEN...

ENGINEERING INFORMATION ENGINEERING MATERIALS The choice of materials used depends on the type of fluid to be controlled. Bodies are made of machined brass, bronze, thermoplasts, stainless steel or nickelized brass or bronze. Seals - diaphragms are chosen according to mechanical, thermal and chemical requirements. NBR is the standard material for use with neutral chemically fluids at temperatures up to 90°C. At higher temperatures, EPDM, FPM and PTFE can be used. In some cases (high temperature and high cycling rate) stainless steel can also be used. Characteristics of sealing materials NBR •...

Electrical protection - IP rating Apart from standard coils, original explosion- and waterproof coils are also available, thus allowing the use of solenoid valves in practically any environment. Standard coils are encapsulated in special thermoplastic resin which prevents the intrusion of damp and protects the winding from mechanical damage. Explosionproof coils are encapsulated in epoxy resin. Basic IP rating for a coil is IP00, whereas IP65 can be achieved with properly fitted plug (to DIN 43650). The TM35k type coil with IP67 rating is designed for extremely damp ambients (also water immersion)....
