Les fils utilisés sont : monel, cuivre étamé, acier cuivré étamé. D'autres métaux sont utilisés pour des blindages particuliers : aluminium, inox, cuivre pur, inconel... Pour certaines applications, le nombre de fils tricotés peut aller jusqu'à 6, selon la jauge de la maille. Standard RB METALLIC RIBBONS are made by knitting one or several wires of an identical or different types. The wires used are monel, tin-plated copper, tin-plated copper-clad steel. Other metals are used for specific shielding : aluminium, stainless steel, pure copper, inconel… For certain applications, there may be up to 6 wires, depending on the gauge of the mesh. Atténuation : L'utilisation du RB en enrubannage donne des atténuations de 40 à 80 dB en champ électrique, selon le taux de recouvrement, la mise à la masse et la nature du tricot. Environnement : La résistance à la corrosion est fonction du métal. Le RB est utilisable dans des ambiances à très hautes températures, en présence de solvants, d'huiles ou d'ozone. Propriétés mécaniques : Le RB, de par sa texture souple et déformable, permet d'épouser les formes les plus complexes.
