High Pressure Centrifugal Pump

Product catalog summary
Overview: The 50870 Series High Pressure Centrifugal Pump, also known as the 'Cyclone Pump', is a stainless steel DC motor/pump unit designed for marine and industrial applications. It is suitable for tasks such as intermittent circulation, fluid transfer, wash down, and spraying duties.
Key Features:
  • Heavy-duty robust design with stainless steel construction.
  • Long life DC motor and mechanical seal.
  • Silent running and anti-clog impeller design.
  • Single tool servicing capability.
Performance: The pump operates at 12.8V and 25.6V DC, with a flow rate measured in liters per minute (lpm) and total head in bar (psi). It is important to note that the pump should not be used with petrol or fluids with a flash point below 37°C (98°F) due to explosion risks.
Installation Instructions:
  • Mount on any flat surface below the lowest fluid level for flooded suction.
  • Ensure a dry, well-ventilated position and use rubber grommets to minimize vibration.
  • Use 3/4" pipe fittings with PTFE tape or compound, avoiding plastic fittings below the waterline.
  • Recommended duty cycle is a maximum of 30 minutes on and a minimum of 30 minutes off.
Relevant Standards: The pump complies with ISO 8846 MARINE and USCG Regulations for Ignition Protection, as well as ISO 8849 MARINE Bilge Pump Standard.
Wiring Instructions:
  • Make electrical connections in dry locations and seal them in humid environments to prevent corrosion.
  • Protect the circuit with a fuse or circuit breaker close to the power source.
  • Ensure voltage at the pump does not drop more than 3% below rated voltage to avoid performance issues.
Operation and Maintenance:
  • The pump can run dry for short periods and against a closed discharge.
  • Periodically check electrical connections and seal areas for leaks.
Spare Parts and Assembly: The document provides a list of spare parts and detailed disassembly and reassembly instructions, including a wiring diagram and wire size table.
Warnings: Several warnings are provided, including risks of explosion, burns from hot motor casing, and fire hazards from incorrect fuse usage.
Warranty: Products are sold and services offered subject to the company's warranty and terms and conditions of sale.
