Product catalog summary
Technical Data and Features
The MS 1000 wafer type sensor is compatible with various flange types and supports nominal diameters from DN 25 to 400. It requires a minimum conductivity of 5 µS/cm and operates in a humidity range of 0 to 100% with an IP 67 protection rating. The sensor is CE certified.
Standard Features
The sensor body is constructed from carbon steel and offers different lining materials such as Polypropylene, Ebonite, and PTFE, each suitable for specific pressure and temperature ranges. Electrode materials include Stainless Steel AISI 316, Hastelloy C, Platinum-rhodium, Titanium, and Tantalum.
Optional Features
Options include body material in Stainless Steel AISI 304 or 316, gasket material in EPDM, and versions with different protection ratings (IP 68).
Overall Dimensions
Detailed dimensions are provided for various nominal diameters, including length, height, diameter, and weight.
Versions
The sensor is available in compact and separate versions, with options for painted or stainless steel finishes and versions with preamplifiers.
Installation Recommendations
Ensure the pipe is fully filled or empty, use anti-vibration joints for long pipelines, and install the sensor away from bends and hydraulic accessories.
Recommended Installation Method
For DN > 150, eyebolts are provided for lifting the sensor. Centering cylinders are recommended for the MS 1000 sensor.
Sensor Grounding
Grounding instructions are provided for pipes with cathodic protection or made of insulating materials, using insulating bushes and metallic rings.
Separate Version
Install connection cables away from electromagnetic noise sources. The minimum conductivity for empty pipe detection is 20 µS/cm.
Pressure Loss Calculation
A formula is included for calculating pressure loss, with examples for different flow velocities and diameter ratios.
How to Order
The ordering section provides a detailed code structure for specifying the sensor's nominal diameter, lining material, maximum temperature, measuring range, gasket material, body material, electrodes material, and execution/protection rate.
Specifications
  • Protection Rate: IP67 for compact execution and separate execution with preamplifier.
  • Material: AISI304 for separate execution with preamplifier.
  • Maximum Cable Length: 500 meters for separate execution with preamplifier.
Procedures
  • Define the length and position of the sensor neck according to drawing G006 for versions A, B, C, and D.
Standards
  • IP68 protection for separate execution with connectors suitable for fast cable connections.
Recommendations
  • Consider additional costs for specific executions and cable lengths.
  • Compact execution allows for a 90° rotation of the converter.
Additional Information
  • The manufacturer may implement design improvements without prior notice.

INSTALLATION RECOMMENDATIONS In vertical installations an ascending flow is preferable. For vertical installations with descending flow direction contact the manufacturer For installations in long pipe lines, please use anti vibration joints LONG PIPING Avoid a partially empty pipe, during operation the pipe must be either completely full of liquid or completely empty Install the sensor away from bends and hydraulic accessories Avoid positioning flange and counter flanges by tigthening the nuts.

PRESSURE LOSS CALCULATION (CONES 8° ANGLES) = Fluid density [kg/m3] typical value = pipe diameter (greater than sensor diameter) [m] = Mean flow velocity in sensor diameter [m/s] Calculation examples Inner diameter of sensor is used for d, express in meters. as goodness approximation of water density in common use. Indeed pressure loss equation is dimensionally correct in [Pa]. The equation results in table are show in [mbar].
