BRAKE MOTORS FOR MARINE ENVIRONMENTS

BRAKE MOTORS FOR MARINE ENVIRONMENTS

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides technical specifications and operational details for ISGEV S.p.A.'s brake motors designed for marine environments. These motors feature a cast-iron casing and are suitable for applications such as driving winches for lifeboats and hatches on marine vessels.
Specifications: The motors are available in sizes ranging from 71 to 160. They are equipped with an AC-DC power supply, and the voltage for brake control must be specified when ordering. The motors can be customized with non-standard shaft projections or according to customer specifications. They can also be built with class H insulation, tropicalization treatment, anti-condensation heaters, and thermistors.
Protection and Compliance: The motors offer IP56 protection for both the brake and the motor, ensuring compliance with various Shipping Registers' requirements. They are designed to operate without ventilation, considering the duration of each work cycle.
Brake Operation: The motors feature a disc brake controlled by a DC-driven electromagnet. The braking action is maintained until the motor is powered again. A special handwheel allows for continuous brake release. The brake operates on the principle of resting current, engaging under spring action when the power supply is cut off or during a power outage.

BRAKE MOTORS FOR MARINE ENVIRONMENTS-1

BRAKE MOTORS FOR MARINE ENVIRONMENTS CAST-IRON CASING Among its various products, I.S.G.E.V. S.p.A. also offers this series of motors derived from the normal self-braking line, with IP56 protection for both the brake and the motor. Generally used to drive winches for lifeboats and various hatches on marine vessels, these motors meet all the requirements set forth by the various Shipping Registers. Considering the duration of each work cycle, these motors do not require any ventilation. The motor is equipped with a disc brake controlled by a DC-driven electromagnet. The brake’s operating principle is based on the use of resting current, i.e. the brake is operated under the action of the springs when the power supply to the motor is cut off or during a power outage. The braking action continues until the motor is powered again or, by using a special handwheel (located on the opposite side of the control), the brake can be released continuously. These motors are equipped with an AC-DC power supply and therefore the power supply voltage for the brake control must be indicated when placing an order. This series of motors covers sizes from 71 to 160. Although construction forms are unified, motors with non-standard shaft projection or based on the customer’s specifications can also be requested. Windings can also be built with class H insulation, with tropicalization treatment and equipped with anti-condensation heaters and thermistors.
