Product catalog summary
Installation & Calibration Manual Overview
This manual provides comprehensive instructions for the installation, calibration, and operation of the ED3/ED4 SkidWeigh Plus Series, an on-board check weighing system for lift trucks. It includes sections on safety precautions, installation procedures, and operational guidelines.

General Installation Guide
The guide stresses the importance of disconnecting the vehicle battery during installation and ensuring all components are securely mounted. It recommends using soldering or crimp connectors for wire connections and advises professional installation by a qualified technician.

Safety Precautions
Before installing the pressure transducer, ensure the vehicle's hydraulic system is pressure-free. The manual outlines two methods to achieve this and emphasizes proper mounting to avoid interference with vehicle operations.

Electro-Magnetic Compatibility
The system complies with CE standards for electromagnetic compatibility, ensuring stability against interference and controlling emissions.

Components Overview
The system includes a digital indicator with a wiring harness and a hydraulic pressure transducer. It operates by converting hydraulic pressure changes into electronic signals to determine load weight.

Pressure Transducer Installation
The transducer should be installed in the hydraulic line between the lift control valve and lift cylinder to ensure accurate weight readings and system functionality.

Digital Indicator Mounting
The indicator should be mounted in a location visible and accessible to the operator, using the provided bracket and anti-vibration mount.

Electrical Connections
The system operates on 12 to 55 VDC and includes detailed wiring instructions for connecting the digital indicator and pressure transducer. Optional vehicle disable functions are also described.

Operator ID Setup
Operators can set up their ID using a keypad, with the system protected against short circuits. Instructions for entering and configuring operator IDs are provided.

Administration Menu Instructions
Access the administration menu by pressing F and 9 on the keypad. The menu allows for date/time setup, vehicle ID configuration, and data saving to a USB memory stick.

Data Management
Instructions are provided for saving data to a USB stick, ensuring easy data transfer and record-keeping.

System Operation and Data Management
The system guides users through data upload to a USB memory stick, followed by an option to erase SDRAM. Users navigate using the LCD display with specific keys for scrolling and exiting. The process includes saving data to USB and confirming SDRAM erasure.

Calibration Procedure
The ED3 SkidWeigh Plus system requires calibration by lifting empty and loaded forks. A known load weight is necessary for accurate calibration, ideally between 30-50% of the lift truck's maximum capacity. The system can display weight in pounds or kilograms based on user input. Calibration involves lifting empty forks, entering the known load weight, and lifting loaded forks to store the calibrated weight.

Overload Warning Function
After calibration, users can input an overload value for operational safety. The system prompts for this input once the loaded forks are lowered.

Supervisor Menu Instructions
The supervisor menu allows setting impact thresholds with default values for low (4G) and high (8G) impacts. Audible warnings can be configured for these impacts. Access to the menu requires a password.

Operator ID Management
The system supports programming up to 50 valid operator IDs. Users input IDs starting with a specific code and can manage these IDs through the supervisor menu.

* Hydraulic pressure transducer with 3 wires cable * Installation & calibration manual and operator usage instruction Operational principal The ED3/ED4 SkidWeigh Plus series operational principal is based on the hydraulic pressure transducer mounted in the vehicle lifting hydraulic circuit that will automatically activate the “weighing cycle / specific algorithm ” every time a skid load is lifted just above the ground. The increase in pressure is converted in an electronic signal at the sample rate of 16000 readings which is converted into a load weight reading. Pressure transducer installation...

Weighing scale function calibration The ED3 SkidWeigh Plus calibration is automatic and is done by lifting empty and loaded forks (or any other attachment such as paper clamp) just above the ground. MAKE SURE THAT YOU HAVE A KNOWN LOAD WEIGHT AND KEEP IT NEARBY TO COMPLETE THE CALIBRATION. For the best results use at least minimum calibration load test weight of 30 to 50% of maximum lifting capacity of the lift truck. Use customer floor scale or find a known skid load weight within the operational facility. Important: If you want the system to show load weight in pounds, use the known load weight...
