Overview: The 2CN Series Needle
Valve is designed for fine adjustment and positive shut-off, suitable for controlling the speed of
cylinders or other actuators. It can restrict flow in both directions and is useful for snubbing pressure gauges and as a shut-off valve.
Specifications: The valve operates with a maximum pressure of 350 bar (5000 psi) and a rated flow of 20 litres/min (5 US GPM). It is constructed from standard aluminum for pressures up to 210 bar, with an option for steel construction for higher pressures. The operating temperature ranges from -20°C to +90°C, and it requires a filtration level of BS5540/4 Class 18/13 (25 micron nominal).
Features: The valve features a sealed adjuster for leak-free adjustment, with a leakage rate of 0.3 millilitres/min nominal when closed. It includes a hardened and ground adjustment needle and is available in both cartridge and bodied versions.
Ordering Information: The basic code for the cartridge only is 2CN20, and for the cartridge and body, it is 2CN25. Seals are available in Nitrile (S) for most industrial hydraulic oils and Viton (SV) for high temperature and special fluid applications. Adjustment options include a leakproof screw (P) or a handknob (R).
Installation: The valve can be mounted in any position and requires a torque of 30 Nm (22 lbs ft) to install the cartridge into the cavity A879. Certified drawings should be requested where measurements are critical.
