VOLTAGE SENSOR PRINCIPLE ݑ Ȱݑְݑ The basic principle of sensors, with diferente accuracy and transformation classes, is based on the IEC 61869-11 standard The sensors are based, according to customer preference, on the resistive or capacitive divider. The sensor has two elements that divide the input signal in a normed output value. Warning! • Before starting the installation, the system must be turned off. The metal mounting structure must be connect to the ground • The sensors must be mounted on top of a metal bar, using a M12 metric. • It is essential that the bar has a good earth connection. • The spacing “D” between the sensors has to be respected according to the “rated primary voltage” of the sensor. • The high voltage connection cable is connected to the sensor through a M10 metric. • The sensor measurement cables must be 1, 2, 5 ou 10m and the measurement impedance must be 2MΩ/50pF or 10MΩ/50pF. RATED PARAMETERS Each sensor is identified with rating plate, where it is possible to see the different characteristics of the sensor. Among the characteristics, we can find, for example, the sensor accuracy class, operating temperature, transformation ratio and measurement impedance. • To obtain the mentioned accuracy class, it is important to respect the measurement impedance as well as not to exceed the sensor operating voltage. • In the example above, we have an example for 24kV.
