Product Description: The ACF4 screw
pump series is engineered for flow volumes between 300 to 3,000 liters per minute, with a maximum differential pressure of 16 bar. It is ideal for lubrication, circulation, and fluid transfer applications involving lubrication oil, fuel oil, vegetable oil, hydraulic oil, and other non-aggressive lubricating fluids.
Applications: These pumps are commonly used for lubricating diesel engines, gears, turbines, and paper machines, as well as for cooling and filtration circulation in large machinery, and transfer operations on ships and in refineries.
Technical Specifications: The pump can handle a maximum discharge and differential pressure of 16 bar, with adjustments for varying viscosities. It includes an integral pressure relief valve to prevent blockages, supports a maximum inlet pressure of 5 bar, and is designed for direct drive via a flexible shaft coupling.
Material and Design: Constructed from grey cast iron, with options for nodular cast iron, the power rotor is made of nitrocarburated carbon steel, and idler rotors are surface-treated carbon steel. The shaft seal features a mechanical seal with a rotating sealing ring.
Performance and Operation: Operating at a maximum speed of 1800 rpm, the pump supports a viscosity range of 2-1500 mm²/s, extendable to 5000 mm²/s with approval. It is designed for clockwise rotation but can operate in reverse for short durations.
Sound and Noise Levels: Sound pressure levels range from 73 to 77 dB(A), depending on pump size, measured at a discharge pressure of 7 bar and speed of 1450 rpm.
Dimensions and Weight: Detailed dimensions and weights are provided for various pump sizes, tailored for specific applications.
Additional Features: The ACF pump series includes tuning valves to reduce noise and vibration from free air in the oil, a common issue in low volume lube oil systems.
Effect of Tuning®: Tuning® significantly reduces pressure fluctuations, lowering noise levels. Without tuning®, rapid pressure fluctuations cause loud rattling noises. Tuning® reduces the speed and magnitude of these fluctuations.
Technical Specifications: Tests at 1800 rpm with a delivery pressure of 5 bar, inlet pressure of -0.5 bar, viscosity of 75 cSt, and 6% free air show the tuning® valve adjusts fluid based on air content and pressure, preventing air bubble collapse under full discharge pressure.
Installation: The ACF-pump is designed for horizontal flange-mounting to an electric motor or vertical mounting on a tripod stand. Detailed installation instructions are available in the Installation and Start-up guide.
Maintenance and Service: Spare parts are readily available. For detailed service information, refer to the maintenance instructions or contact IMO AB.
Pump Model Code: The pump series includes ACF and UCF models with specifications such as power rotor diameter, lead type, design generation, material, shaft seal design, mounting type, and valve options.
Components List: A comprehensive list of components is provided, including power rotor, ball bearing, pump body, tuning valve, and various seals and screws.
