Stiffness Tester Model: S0016 The Stiffness Tester evaluates the flexibility and bending resistance of paper and paperboard in both machine and cross machine directions. iDMinstruments The sample is clamped in the pivot block to allow for left and right measurement of the bending resistance at the free end of the sample in grams. Stiffness Tester The top of a 38mm x 70mm (1.5inch x 2.75inch) sample is clamped, and the bottom of the sample rests against the bottom blades. The blades are then adjusted to just make contact with the sample, then the pivot block is rotated at 15° or 7.5° deflection in either the left or right direction, and the resulting bending resistance measured at the bottom of the sample is displayed in g/cm.
