Product catalog summary
Introduction
IDB Systems Limited introduces the ID-913, a next-generation Charge Decay Meter designed to evaluate the antistatic properties of materials used in protective clothing. This instrument builds on the success of previous models, ID-489 and ID-917, and is compliant with the EN1149-3:2004 specification.

Specifications & Features
  • Input Power Options: 100V - 240V AC, 50Hz – 60Hz
  • Field-electrode: Polished stainless steel, 70mm diameter, with an earthed guard ring
  • Applied Test Voltage: 1200V with a rise time of <=30 uS
  • Support Ring: Internal diameter of 100mm
  • TFT Touch Screen Display: Resolution of 480 x 272
  • Dimensions: W530 x L422 x H205mm
  • Self-Test & Maintenance: Tailored to application

Testing Procedure
The ID-913 uses an induction effect to charge the test specimen. A field-electrode is positioned under the horizontally arranged specimen, and a high-voltage is applied. If the specimen is conductive, it induces a charge of opposite polarity. The decrease in the net field registered by the measuring probe is used to determine the half decay time and shielding factor. Results are displayed on a TFT screen and can be downloaded via USB.

ID-913-1

The IDB model ID-913 is a next generation Charge Decay Meter designed to provide accurate and reproducible measurements to BS EN 1149-3 - Protective clothing. ID-913 Electrostatic Charge Decay Meter Building on the success of the popular ID-489 and the ID-917 Charge Decay Meters, the ID-913 is a next generation microprocessor based instrument which has been developed to evaluate the antistatic properties of materials used in the fabrication of protective clothing. The instrument has been designed to test in general accordance with the test method 2 described in the EN1149-3:2004 specification The antistatic properties of such materials depend on the rate at which an accumulated electrostatic charge on the surface is dissipated. SPECIFICATIONS & FEATURES Input Power Options: As the amount of induced charge on the test specimen increases, the net field registered by the measuring probe decreases. It is this decrease in field that is used to determine the half decay time and shielding factor. Support Ring: If the specimen is conductive, or contains conducting elements, charge of opposite polarity to the field-electrode is induced on the specimen. Polished stainless steel 70mm diameter surrounded by an earthed guard ring Applied Test Voltage: Charging of the test specimen is carried out by an induction effect and immediately under the test specimen, which is horizontally arranged, a field-electrode is positioned, without contacting the specimen, and a high-voltage is rapidly applied to the field-electrode. TFT Touch Screen Display: Self-Test & Maintenance: Please email [email protected] for further details. Our engineering consultants would be pleased to discuss your requirements with you, and we invite you to contact our team at [email protected], alternatively you can call us on +44 (0) 1492 864 126. The effect is then measured and displayed on the TFT display and can be downloaded to a PC using a Type A to Type B USB cable.
