ibaClock - 1

ibaClock In brief I High precision time server I Time sources: GPS signal, IRIG-B or IEEE 1588 I Fiber optic connection to ibaPDA systems via ibaFOB-D-io cards I Synchronization of ibaPDA systems with sample accuracy I Can be used as IEEE 1588 time server or as NTP time server in a network I Configuration and diagnostics via ibaPDA or web interface I Completely maintenance-free I Rugged design, easy mounting Time Synchronization for Distributed Systems n Basics With the new time synchronization module ibaClock, several distributed iba systems can be precisely synchronized. ibaClock determines the time base for all connected systems and hence allows for data acquisition in a synchronized manner with a precision better than 150 ns. For this purpose, FO connections from ibaClock to measurement computers are necessary. ibaClock can use different time sources: ibaClock ibaRackline Synchronization of several ibaPDA systems via fiber optics GPS time signal Time code IRIG-B* Ethernet-based PTP (Precision Time Protocol) according to IEEE 1588 standard* For synchronizing the time of iba or non-iba systems, there are several output signals available: Background The timebase for ibaPDA systems is the clock of the respective ibaPDA computer. In case decentrally acquired data have to be correlated or a measurement has to be done at an absolute time, it is necessary in such distributed systems to synchronize all computers. Fiber optics for ibaPDA systems IEEE 1588 (PTP)* NTP/SNTP* DCF77* Configuration in ibaPDA or Web Interface ibaClock can be configured using ibaPDA or a web interface. During running operation, LEDs on the device show the device status and the reception signal quality of the GPS signal. This information can also be tracked via the web interface or ibaPDA. Antenna The device supports a special GPS smart antenna, that can be mounted with a cable length of up to 400 m from the device. The antenna, a suitable cable and an optional mounting bracket can be purchased from iba. Third party system ibaClock as time server according to IEEE 1588* Fields of application Correlation of decentrally acquired data Linking processes in decentralized structures Energy supply (phasor measurement) *with future firmware versions
