Screenings Wash Press WAP/SL

Product catalog summary
Overview
The HUBER Screenings Wash Press WAP/SL is designed to significantly reduce the volume, weight, and disposal costs of wastewater screenings by up to 85%. It achieves compaction levels of up to 50% dry residue (DR) and ensures high-quality washed screenings with less than 20 mg BOD5 per gram of DR.
Functionality
The WAP/SL operates in batch mode, where screenings are either directly dropped into a launder tank or flushed in via a launder channel. The tank is filled with wash water and agitated by an impeller to remove fecal matter through high turbulence. After washing, the water drains, and a screw conveys the screenings through a pressure zone for compression and dewatering before discharge.
Feeding Options
  • Launder Channel Feeding: Screenings are flushed into the launder tank using screened wastewater or process water.
  • Direct Feeding: Screenings drop directly into the launder tank, with wash water introduced directly.
Benefits
  • Significant reduction in disposal costs and volume.
  • High-intensity washing ensures clean screenings.
  • Compaction up to 50% DS.
  • Processing capacity of up to 12 m3/h (420 ft3/hr).
  • Durable stainless steel construction prevents corrosion.
  • Fast payback due to cost savings in transportation and disposal.
Technical Information
All structural parts, including the screw, are made of stainless steel, ensuring durability and resistance to corrosion. The system is designed for high turbulence during impeller operation, ensuring effective washing and compaction.

The WAP/SL operates in a batch mode. Screenings either drop into the launder tank directly from a screen or conveyor, or they are flushed into the tank through a launder channel. After a batch of screenings has been fed, the tank Is filled up with wash water and agitated for an adjustable period by means of an impeller. The fecal matter Is loosened and removed from the screenings by high turbulence and shear. After the washing cycle has been finished, an automatic valve opens and the wash water drains through per- forations in the trough. It returns, together with the fecal matter, to the wastewater...
