Product catalog summary
Application
RADOX® RAILCAT CAT7 is designed for Gigabit Ethernet in rolling stock, supporting digital data transmission up to 10 Gigabit as per IEEE 802.3an. It is intended for fixed installation in rail vehicles, suitable for infotainment, multimedia, passenger information systems, Internet on board, and CCTV.
Features
This cable is specifically developed and tested for the railway market, ensuring reliable transmission at high data rates (Cat. 7). It meets the electrical requirements of EN 50288-4-2 and IEC 61156-6 Cat. 7. The sheath is made from RADOX® EM 104 material, compliant with EN 50264-1, and is flame-retardant, halogen-free, and low-smoke. The cable is easy to strip and identifiable by its blue jacket.
Certifications
HUBER+SUHNER is certified under ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949, and IRIS.
Technical Specifications
The cable consists of 4 pairs of 24 AWG stranded tin-plated copper conductors with polyethylene insulation. It has an EMC screen of tin-plated copper braid and a RADOX EM 104 sheath. The voltage rating is 300/500 V AC, with an impedance of 100 Ω at 100 MHz. The temperature range is -40 °C to +70 °C.
Performance Data
The cable's performance is detailed across various frequencies, with attenuation, NEXT, PS NEXT, ELFEXT, PS ELFEXT, and RL values provided. For example, at 100 MHz, the attenuation is 27.8 dB/100m, NEXT is 72.4 dB, and RL is 35.0 dB.
Fire Protection Compliance
The cable meets fire protection standards for railway rolling stock, including EN 45545-2, DIN 5510-2, NF F 16–101, and UNI CEI 11170-3.
