Product catalog summary
Introduction to Hermetically Sealed RF Connectors
Hermetically sealed RF connectors are designed to be impenetrable and airtight, utilizing a glass-seal to separate and isolate the center contact and metal ring. This seal is soldered into the connector body, ensuring internal sealing. HUBER+SUHNER is a reputable manufacturer of these connectors, leveraging years of experience and specialized equipment.

Applications
These connectors are essential in environments where preventing the ingress or loss of liquids, air, or gas is critical. Common applications include vacuum processing equipment, coaxial feed-throughs in liquid applications, and containers with overpressure or vacuum.

Mounting Variants
1. Flange with O-Ring: The connector is screwed into the panel with an O-ring for sealing, achieving a typical leak rate of 10-6 Torrl/sec.
2. Spark Plug: Utilizes a compressed metal ring for sealing, recommended to be installed with a torque wrench, achieving a leak rate of 10-8 Torrl/sec.
3. Direct Soldering: The connector is soldered directly into the panel without additional gaskets, with a recommended soldering temperature of 250 °C / 482 °F, achieving a leak rate of 10-8 Torrl/sec.

Product Range
The product portfolio includes panel receptacles and bulkhead adaptors in series such as BNC, N, SHV, SMA, and SMB. Some products are not RoHS compliant due to the use of lead-containing solder, but compliant alternatives are available.

Receptacles and Adaptors
Receptacles (Female): Available with flange and O-ring, spark plug, and direct soldering options, each with specific leak rates and mounting methods.
Hermetic Sealed Adaptors: Feature a flange with O-ring and a leak rate of 10-6 Torrl/sec.

Certifications
HUBER+SUHNER is certified according to EN 9100, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO/TS 16949, and IRIS.

Hermetically sealed RF connectors-1

Hermetically sealed RF connectors Hermetic is greek. It means impenetrable, barred, air and watertight, etc. The heart of a «hermetic» connector is a glass-seal. This is a center contact as well as a metal ring, which are separated and isolated by melted glass. The glass-seal is soldered into the connector body and is sealing the connector internally. Years of experience in development and production, as well as special equipment for soldering and testing the leak rate are reasons why HUBER+SUHNER is a competent and reliable manufacturer of hermetically sealed RF connectors.

Hermetically sealed RF connectors Application Hermetically sealed connectors are needed where ingress or loss of liquid, air or gas for various reasons is not acceptable or has to be avoided by all means. Examples • Vacuum processing equipment • Coaxial feed-throughs on applications in liquids (i.e. fluid level measurement in tanks) • Coaxial feed-throughs in containers with overpressure or vacuum Mounting variants There are several alternatives to mount a hermetic sealed connector on a panel. Besides the glass-seal, the mounting variant also has influence regarding leak rate of the connector...
