HTC Grinding Guide

HTC Grinding Guide

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document is a comprehensive guide on HTC Floor Solutions, focusing on grinding processes and tool recommendations for different types of concrete and floor surfaces. It outlines the HTC Superfloor system, which includes Gold, Platinum, Silver, and Bronze levels, each with specific grinding steps and tool requirements.
HTC Superfloor System:
  • Gold, Platinum, Silver, Bronze: Each level has a specific sequence of grinding steps aimed at achieving a flat and smooth surface. The process involves using resin-bonded diamond tools with flexible tool holders.
  • Grinding Steps: The initial step is crucial for creating a flat surface, followed by subsequent steps to remove scratches from previous grinding. Not all steps may be necessary depending on the floor properties.
Tool Recommendations:
  • Resin Bonded Diamonds: Recommended for use with flexible tool holders across all grinding levels.
  • Metal Tools: Various metal tools are specified for different concrete hardness levels, identified by Moh's scratch test ratings.
  • Wood Grinding: Tools like EZ T-REX® and HTC RAVAGER™ are recommended for wood grinding and coatings removal.
Concrete Grinding:
  • Concrete Types: The guide categorizes concrete into hard, soft, extremely hard, and medium, with specific tool series recommended for each type.
  • Tool Wear: Uneven or weak concrete increases tool wear, which should be monitored closely.
Final Polishing:
  • Natural Stone and Granite: Wet grinding is recommended, with final polishing using diamond-impregnated pads or granite polishing agents for optimal gloss.
  • Design Floors: Use of self-leveling compounds is suggested to protect tile edges during surface leveling.
Product Listings:
  • Tools and Accessories: Detailed item numbers for various HTC tools, including metal, resin, and hybrid tools, are provided for easy reference.
Disclaimer: The processes are recommendations only, and HTC is not liable for the end results. Users are advised to follow safety instructions.

HTC Superfloor Platinum The intention of the first grinding step is to create a surface that is as flat as possible. It is the foundation for a good end result. All subsequent grinding steps must remove the scratches from the previous grinding step. Depending on the properties of the floor all steps might not be needed. Resin bonded diamond tools should be used with flexible tool holder. O Coarse/flat grinding is not included in this concept. This requires that the surface is already smooth and flat, otherwise - use the grinding process for HTC Superfloor Platinum. All subsequent grinding steps...
