General Description: The Twiflex MX series disc brake calipers, including models MX13, MX25, MX30, and MX40, are designed for use with brake discs of varying thicknesses (12.7mm, 25.4mm, 30mm, and 40mm respectively). These calipers can be used with different actuators and are typically mounted horizontally around the disc periphery. For installations at angles greater than 10 degrees from horizontal, an inclined mounting kit or equalizing link is recommended.
Specifications: The calipers weigh 7.0 kg and use asbestos-free high friction material pads with a total pad area of 104 cm². The new pad dimensions are 60 x 90 x 13 mm, with an allowable wear of 8 mm per pad. The calipers are supplied as right-hand assemblies, with left-hand options available upon request.
Installation and Maintenance: For pad replacement in air and spring-applied calipers, secure the installation, remove worn pads, clean the disc and pad recesses, and fit new pads. Ensure pads are free to move sideways. Specific procedures are outlined for both air and spring-applied calipers.
Controllers and Thrusters: Twiflex offers controllers for single or multi-caliper installations compatible with electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems. Various thruster models are available, each with specific maximum braking forces, ranging from 0.74 to 14.3 units.
Available Spares: Spare parts for each caliper model include arm assemblies, caliper bases, pivot pins, retaining plates, spring anchor plates, pad assemblies, spring kits, and inclined mounting kits. Part numbers are provided for each component across the MX13, MX25, MX30, and MX40 models.

(as shown above) Left-hand assembly can be supplied on request, or can easily be changed on site. Twiflex Disc Brakes must be used with Twiflex asbestos free brake pads. The use of any other brake pads will invalidate the warranty. Twiflex Limted reserves the right to modify or change the design without prior notice.
