08 09 Airport expansion takes off Four Hitachi machines are working on a major airport expansion project in Oman, which will benefit millions of travellers. The Hitachi ZX400LCH-3 excavators are at Muscat International Airport, where work is underway to create new terminals with the capacity to handle 12million passengers annually. The project is in the early stages, with preparations being made to ensure the building work will stand up to heavy flooding. The ground level at the site will be raised by three metres.
