Hiller Centrate Monitoring

Product catalog summary
Introduction
HILLER GmbH introduces a new and patented process for monitoring the centrate quality in decanter centrifuges, known as the HILLER Centrate Control (HCC). This innovation ensures a consistently high degree of separation and procedural reliability.

Key Features
  • Consistently high separating efficiency.
  • Automatic monitoring of centrate quality.
  • Applicable in almost all decanter applications.
  • Seamless integration into existing HILLER decanters.
  • Quick and simple installation process.
  • Warning system for poor centrate quality.

Process Description
The centrate is monitored using an object sensor that detects discolouration levels. This information is transmitted to the plant's PLC via Profinet/Ethernet. If poor centrate quality is detected, the system PLC can issue a warning or shut down the feed. Adjustments to differential speed, polymer quantity, or feed quantity can be made through a specially developed PLC module, optimizing polymer consumption and preventing overdoses.

Schematic Diagram
The schematic diagram illustrates the integration of the object sensor with the HILLER decanter system, highlighting connections via Profinet and Ethernet, and the role of the system PLC and centrate controller in maintaining process reliability and cost efficiency.

The object sensor uses software to determine the discolouration of the centrate. This level of discolouration is then passed on from the HCC to the plant PLC via Profinet/Ethernet. With poor centrate quality, the system PLC issues a warning message of shuts down the feed. Depending on the discolouration, the differential...
