The general process stages are: 1. Degumming 2. Neutralization 3. Bleaching 4. Winterization (optional for certain oils) 5. Deodorization 6. De-waxing/Winterization 7. Polishing Each step ensures the removal of specific impurities, adheres to food safety regulations, and contributes to achieving a high-quality product.

Deodorization involves removing aromatic substances by exposing sunflower oil to hot, dry steam at temperatures ranging from 170 to 230°C under vacuum conditions. During this process, odor-causing substances that lead to oxidation are destroyed. The cooling of deodorized oil and simultaneous heating of crude oil occurs in the recuperative brazed plate heat exchanger LUNA, where the hot (deodorized) oil is cooled from 200 to 116.2°C, and the crude oil is heated from 60 to 150°C.
