Description: Modipur® US 569 B / US 13 is a CFC-free foam system designed for low-density ski/snowboard cores. It offers excellent flow properties and can be used in sandwich constructions or as block foam.
Mix Ratio: The system requires 100 parts by weight of component 1 (polyol) and 170 parts by weight of component 2 (isocyanate).
Processing Data: The components can be processed using high and low-pressure foaming machines. Air nucleation is recommended to improve flow and cellular structure. Component 1 must be homogenized before use and continuously in the machine tank.
Processing Temperatures: Raw materials should be at 20-30°C, and the mould at 45-60°C.
Reaction Times: Hand mix starting time is 60 ± 5 seconds, setting time is 240 ± 6 seconds. Free rise density is 100 ± 5 kg/m³, and mould-foamed density ranges from 150 to 300 kg/m³.
Mould Release Properties: Mouldings can be released after 8 minutes in tempered metal moulds.
Properties: The foam has a nominal density of 150 kg/m³, compression strength of 2.05 Mpa, tensile strength of 1.26 Mpa, shear strength of 1.02 Mpa, and a heat distortion temperature of 170°C. Thermal conductivity is between 0.03-0.04 W/m°K.
Storage: Raw materials are stable for 6 months if stored at 20-24°C in closed containers. Component 2 may crystallize below 5°C but can be liquefied by warming.

It has excellent flowing properties under suitable processing conditions. To improve the flowing properties of the reacting foam-mixture and to achieve an even cellular structure of the foam, sufficient air nucleation in the raw materials, preferably by using a suitable air nucleation device, has to be ensured prior to processing. Component 1 (polyol) has to be homogenized prior to use (approx. 10 min, 1000 2000 rev./min). In the machine tank component 1 has to be homogenized continually (approx. 60 rev./min).
